BIRATNAGAR: On the occasion of National Journalism Day, the Koshi Provincial Government has honored eight journalists, including Nepal News journalist Gopal Dahal, for their contribution to journalism and society.

At a program held in Biratnagar on Thursday, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law of Koshi Province awarded journalists in recognition of their role in promoting social awareness through media.

Journalist Gopal Dahal was awarded a cash prize of NPR 100,000 by Chief Minister Hikmat Kumar Karki.

Other journalists honored include Bibek Gautam, Rejina Gautam, Siddhraj Rai, Manoj Shrestha, Shekhar Regmi, Shyam Sundar Sutihar, and Santosh Ruchal.
