Six tigers found dead in Chitwan National Park this fiscal year

KATHMANDU: Six Bengal tigers have been found dead in Chitwan National Park during the current fiscal year.

According to information officer Avinash Thapamagar, the latest case was an approximately two-year-old male tiger found dead near CG Ghat area on Monday, bringing the total number of tiger deaths this year to six. He said the tiger is believed to have died due to a tiger attack.

Among the deceased tigers, two were male, three were female, and the sex of one has not been identified.
Of the total deaths, two tigers are believed to have died after fighting each other, three died while under rescue or treatment, and one died due to natural causes.

In the previous count, Chitwan National Park had recorded 128 tigers. However, the results of the latest population census have not yet been made public.
