Teenager dies after falling from cliff in Tanahun

TANAHUN: A 17-year-old boy died after falling from a cliff in the Sisaughari area of Shukla Gandaki Municipality-5, Jharauta, in Tanahun district.

According to the District Police Office, the deceased has been identified as Asmit Rana, a resident of Shukla Gandaki Municipality-7, Bhotepani.

Police Inspector Deepak Kumar Karki reported that the incident occurred on Wednesday night while Rana was hanging out with his friends. He reportedly slipped and fell off a 90-meter-high cliff near the Jharauta Stream while going to relieve himself.

Rana, who sustained severe injuries, was immediately rescued and rushed to the GP Koirala National Center for Respiratory Diseases in Belchautara last night. However, doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival.

The police stated that a further investigation into the incident is underway.
