KATHMANDU: Two people died on the spot after a Maruti van met with an accident in Damrikhola of Mandavi Rural Municipality-1 in Pyuthan.

The incident occurred when the vehicle (Lu. Pra. 02-001 Ja 0104), which was traveling along the Devisthan–Dang road section, went out of control and fell about 200 meters off the road.

The deceased have been identified as van driver 24-year-old Dilip Pariyar of Pyuthan Municipality-4 and 26-year-old Abhishek Kunwar of Malarani Rural Municipality-5.

According to District Police Office Pyuthan, police teams reached the scene immediately after receiving information. Both victims died on the spot due to severe injuries.

Police said an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident.
