SANKHUWASABHA: A 39-year-old woman identified as Kumari Rai died after being struck by lightning in Chirkhan, Makalu Rural Municipality-1 of Sankhuwasabha district.

According to Dhan Bahadur Rajbanshi, the Information Officer at the District Police Office, the tragic incident occurred while she was attempting to turn off the electric meter box inside her home during a storm.

Rai sustained severe injuries from the lightning strike and tragically passed away en route to the Num Primary Health Center for treatment. Police reported that her body has been brought to the District Hospital Sankhuwasabha today, and it will be handed over to her family following a post-mortem examination.
