HETAUDA: A three-day Dragon Fruit Festival organized jointly by the Bagmati Province Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development and Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City has concluded, recording sales of 10 metric tons of dragon fruit worth around Rs 2.5 million.
The festival, held at the Provincial Agricultural Wholesale Market premises in Hetauda-11, saw significant participation from consumers in Hetauda and surrounding areas, according to Pradeep Regmi, Chief of the Agriculture Development Branch of Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City.
Organizers highlighted that the festival, aimed at promoting local produce, successfully delivered a message that there is no shortage of market for Nepali fruits; rather, there is a need to improve consumer and market preference for domestic products.
Regmi added that the festival proved highly effective in promoting local agricultural produce, ensuring a fair market for farmers, and establishing a direct market link between producers and consumers.
