BEIJING: China has backed Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to ease Middle East tensions following talks between Wang Yi and Ishaq Dar in Beijing. Both sides launched a five-point initiative calling for a ceasefire and renewed dialogue.
They also reviewed regional security concerns, Afghanistan, and bilateral cooperation, including progress under CPEC.
Pakistan’s outreach, including a recent quadrilateral meeting and its offer to host U.S.–Iran talks, received Chinese support as part of broader de-escalation efforts.
