NEW DELHI: Indian Naval Ship INS Sunayna, operating as IOS Sagar with a multinational crew from 16 countries, is scheduled to arrive at the Port of Colombo on tomorrow (May 15) as part of its regional deployment in the Indian Ocean.
The vessel departed Mumbai on April 2, after joint training involving naval personnel from countries including Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Indonesia, the Maldives, South Africa, Thailand, and the UAE.
During the Colombo visit, the ship’s commanding officer is expected to meet senior Sri Lanka Navy officials, while crew members will participate in professional exchanges and sports activities with the Sri Lanka Navy.
The deployment is part of India’s regional maritime cooperation initiative aimed at strengthening security collaboration and engagement across the Indian Ocean region.
