India A defeat Sri Lanka A by 66 runs to clinch Tri-Series title

DAMBULLA: India A lifted the Tri-Nation A Series title after defeating Sri Lanka A by 66 runs in the final at Dambulla on Sunday.

Batting first, India A posted a commanding total of 377/9 in 50 overs, powered by a sensational 94 off 29 balls from Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and key contributions from Ruturaj Gaikwad, Tilak Varma, and Kumar Kushagra.

In reply, Sri Lanka A were bowled out for 311 in their chase of 378, falling short despite fighting efforts from their middle order.

India A’s bowlers shared the wickets regularly to defend the total and secure a comprehensive victory in the summit clash.

The win capped a strong campaign for India A, who recovered from earlier setbacks in the tournament to finish as champions.
