Nepal opts to bowl first after winning toss against UAE in T20 Series clash

KATHMANDU: Nepal has won the toss and elected to field first in the second match of the T20 series against the United Arab Emirates at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, with play scheduled to begin at 5 pm. At the time of reporting, UAE are 23 for 3 after 3 overs.

The UAE had won the opening match of the series. For this fixture, the Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) has fielded a squad led by Dipendra Singh Airee, featuring players including Kushal Bhurtel, Kushal Malla, Sandeep Jora, Aarif Sheikh, Basir Ahmed, Gulshan Jha, Lokesh Bam, Sandeep Lamichhane, Nandan Yadav, Santosh Yadav, Arjun Saud, Hemant Dhami, Shahab Alam, and Sher Malla, with Pratis GC, Narayan Joshi, and Rashid Khan named as reserves.

This series also marks Nepal’s continued experimentation with separate captains for T20 and ODI formats, with senior players such as Rohit Paudel, Sompal Kami, and Karan KC absent from the T20 setup.
