KATHMANDU: Nepal is currently experiencing the partial influence of an upper-atmospheric western low-pressure system, local winds, and easterly winds, causing cloudy skies across the hilly, mountainous, and Koshi Terai regions.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, brief to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is expected today and tonight in parts of the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as isolated areas of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim.

Meanwhile, weather will remain mostly clear in the Terai plains of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces, where hot day conditions (heatwaves) are likely to persist.
