KATHMANDU: The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has kept the prices of petroleum products unchanged.
The corporation decided to maintain the current retail prices as adjustments could not be made under the automated pricing mechanism due to fluctuations in petroleum prices in the international market.
According to NOC spokesperson Manoj Kumar Thakur, a meeting of the corporation’s board of directors held on June 15, based on the new purchase prices received from the Indian Oil Corporation, decided to maintain the existing prices effective from 12:01 AM Monday midnight.
According to him, the price of petrol has been maintained at Rs 214.50 per liter for the first category, Rs 216 for the second category, and Rs 217 for the third category.
Similarly, the prices of diesel and kerosene have been kept at Rs 222.50 per liter for the first category, Rs 224 for the second category, and Rs 225 for the third category.
The corporation determines prices by dividing different parts of the country into three categories.
According to this classification, the Kathmandu Valley falls under the third category.
