POKHARA: The Gandaki Province government on Monday presented a Rs 32.999 billion budget for fiscal year 2026/27, around Rs 1 billion higher than the Rs 31.97 billion budget of the current fiscal year.
Presenting the budget in the Provincial Assembly, Economic Affairs Minister Jit Bahadur Sherchan allocated Rs 20.026 billion for capital expenditure and Rs 12.723 billion (38.56 percent) for recurrent expenditure. An additional Rs 250 million has been earmarked for financial management.
The government expects to receive Rs 10.164 billion from revenue sharing, Rs 7.848 billion in fiscal equalization grants, Rs 514.8 million from royalty sharing, Rs 3.93 billion in conditional grants, Rs 554.6 million in complementary grants, and Rs 395.4 million in special grants. The province also plans to raise Rs 5.841 billion internally, retain a Rs 2 billion cash balance, and mobilize Rs 1.75 billion through internal borrowing.
