KATHMANDU: The Flood Forecasting Division has issued an advisory warning residents in several western districts of potential flash floods on Saturday, urging local communities to take basic precautions.

According to the bulletin released by the division at 8:00 AM on Saturday morning, a significant rise in water levels is expected in small rivers and streams flowing through Kaski, Parbat, Myagdi, and surrounding areas.

“As the forecast indicates a significant increase in the flow of small rivers flowing through Kaski, Parbat, Myagdi, and neighboring districts, there is a low risk of flash floods,” the division stated in its official bulletin.

“Therefore, residents living in these riverbank and coastal areas are requested to exercise normal caution,” the bulletin reads.

While major river systems across the country remain below critical warning thresholds, localized rainfall during the ongoing monsoon season continues to pose sudden risks to smaller tributaries in hilly regions.
