KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology reports that monsoon winds are currently active across Nepal, with the monsoon trough positioned north of its usual location.

Overcast conditions prevail nationwide, bringing light to moderate rain to parts of the Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces.

On Monday, generally cloudy weather will persist, with light to moderate rain and snow forecast for the high-mountain regions.

Additionally, widespread rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning is expected across the hills and several Terai areas, while heavy downpours are likely in parts of the Koshi and Sudurpashchim provinces, as well as isolated hilly areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali.
