KATHMANDU: According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, monsoon winds are currently influencing weather patterns across Nepal, keeping the low-pressure line hovering near its normal position.

As a result, the country is experiencing mostly cloudy skies with light to moderate rain already falling in parts of the Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, alongside scattered showers elsewhere.

Throughout the day and into the night, this trend will continue with widespread cloud cover and light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning across hilly, mountainous, and plains (Terai) regions.

Furthermore, the meteorological division warns of potential heavy rainfall in isolated areas of the hilly terrains of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, with very heavy downpours specifically expected in parts of the Koshi and Gandaki hills, while strong winds may also affect the plains of Lumbini and Sudurpashchim.
