KATHMANDU: Rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is currently hitting various areas across Bagmati, Gandaki, Madhesh, and Koshi provinces, including the Kathmandu Valley.
Moderate rainfall is concentrated around Gandaki and Chitwan, while Lum in Solukhumbu recorded a heavy 124.2 mm of rain over the last 24 hours.
Looking ahead to Sunday and Monday, the weather division forecasts generally cloudy skies for eastern and central provinces.
In contrast, western Nepal faces extreme conditions: the hills of Sudurpashchim and Lumbini will experience high temperatures, while their Terai plains are on alert for a heat wave.
Additionally, strong, gusty winds are predicted to impact sections of the southern Terai plains over the next 48 hours.
