KATHMANDU: A western low-pressure system and local winds are triggering unstable weather across Nepal.

The Meteorological Forecasting Division reports generally cloudy skies over the country’s hilly and mountainous regions, with light to moderate thunder showers expected this afternoon in isolated high-altitude areas and the western Terai.

Tonight, clear conditions will return to the southern plains, though brief, light rainfall may persist in parts of the northern highlands.

In sharp contrast to the mountain showers, a heat advisory has been issued for the Terai plains of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, where sizzling temperatures are expected throughout the day.
