MUMBAI: Telugu superstar Nandamuri Balakrishna officially announced his 111th film, NBK 111, in celebration of his 65th birthday on June 10, 2025.
The film is directed by Gopichand Malineni, with whom Balakrishna previously delivered the blockbuster Veera Simha Reddy. Expectations are high for this new project, which is being produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under the banner of Vriddhi Cinemas.
Balakrishna, popularly known as the “God of Masses,” recently completed the successful Veera Simha Reddy with Malineni, and fans eagerly await this collaboration once again. The director shared an intriguing poster featuring a lion’s face partly covered with armor, hinting at a powerful and historic narrative. Malineni said, “The God of Masses is back, and this time, we are roaring louder. This film will be a historic one.”
The film announcement coincides with Balakrishna’s ongoing work with director Boyapati Srinu on Akhanda 2, the sequel to their 2021 hit Akhanda. Meanwhile, rumors circulate about another potential project with Malayalam director Aneesh Ahamed, known for the intense film Marka. However, NBK 111 remains the confirmed upcoming film, set to start production on June 10.
Venkata Satish Kilaru, who is also producing Ram Charan’s Peddi, is backing this high-profile venture. The film is expected to be a grand mass entertainer with historic elements, promising to be a major highlight of Balakrishna’s career.
