KATHMANDU: The leadership selection process of ANNFSU, the student wing affiliated with CPN-UML, begins today as part of its 24th General Convention.
The convention, inaugurated on Sunday by UML Chair and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli at Tribhuvan University in Kirtipur, is currently in a closed session.
This marks the first leadership change under the newly enforced age limit of 32. As a result, 15 of the current 17 central office bearers and three commission heads are stepping down.
The Maoist Centre’s student wing, ANNFSU (Revolutionary), had already implemented a similar age cap. Following group discussions on political, organizational, and financial reports, the election process is set to begin later today, according to ANNFSU.
Earlier, the CPN-UML Secretariat, in a meeting on Jestha 11 (May 25), formally decided to enforce the 32-year age limit.
