KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division has warned of light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning across various hilly regions of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces today.

A few areas in other provinces may also see similar conditions. One or two locations in the hilly areas of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, Sudurpaschim, Koshi, and Bagmati provinces are likely to experience heavy rainfall.

Light to moderate rain or snowfall is expected in some high hill and mountainous areas across all provinces, with Koshi and Bagmati likely to see more widespread precipitation in these zones.

Windstorms may occur in parts of the Terai and Madhes regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, the Division cautioned.

Tonight, light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces, with a few areas in other provinces also affected.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is forecast at isolated locations in Koshi, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim.

The Division has advised the public to remain alert, particularly in areas at risk of landslides, flash floods, and strong winds.
