JAJARKOT: In Tarpena of Kushe Rural Municipality-3, Jajarkot, two sisters from the same family died after being struck by a falling rock.

According to Ward Chairperson Bir Bahadur Budha, the incident occurred around 9:00 PM on Thursday while 18-year-old Sharmila Budha and 14-year-old Chameli Budha were sleeping in a temporary shelter.

He said continuous rainfall in the area had caused problems. The two daughters of Nar Bahadur Budha were sleeping in a temporary shelter built for earthquake victims while they were tending goats.

A rock fell from above, hitting them, and both died on the spot, said Chairperson Budha.
