PM Oli urges Malaysian investors to tap Nepal’s business potential

KATHMANDU: A delegation from the Malaysia–Nepal Business Council met with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Friday to discuss potential investment opportunities in Nepal.

The meeting took place at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar. The 20-member delegation was led by Pradeep Kumar Kukreja, Executive Chairman of Paradise Group, Malaysia.

The team informed PM Oli that their visit aimed to explore Nepal’s business environment in detail and to establish meaningful commercial ventures and bilateral ties.

Prime Minister Oli highlighted that the government has been undertaking legal and structural reforms to encourage and facilitate foreign investment for Nepal’s prosperity.

He assured that the government remains committed to working with the business community to further improve the investment climate.

The delegation expressed interest in investing in plastic waste processing, IT parks, and tourism sectors.

The meeting also included discussions on investment prospects in tourism, agriculture, information technology, manpower, textiles, and other diverse fields.

The delegation arrived in Kathmandu on July 2, coordinated with the Nepali Embassy in Malaysia.

Prime Minister Oli’s Chief Advisor Bishnu Prasad Rimal and Economic Advisor Dr. Yubaraj Khatiwada were also present during the meeting.
