RASUWA: Authorities have confirmed that 18 people are missing following Tuesday morning’s flood in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa.

Among them are three police officers, nine Nepali workers, and six Chinese nationals. The missing police personnel are ASI Lal Bahadur Shrestha (42) from Ramechhap, Constable Munna Thakur (24) from Bara, and Constable Lokendra Bohora (23) from Bajhang — all stationed at the Area Police Office in Timure.

The nine missing Nepalis include Jiban Chaudhary (36), Santosh Dahit (35), Buddhiram Ram Tharu (25), Laxminarayan Tharu (24), and Suresh Tharu (30) — all from Bardiya.

Others are Narendra BK from Baglung, Phurwa Lama from Sindhupalchok, and two drivers — Govinda Moktan and Lokman Tamang — whose addresses remain unverified.

The six missing Chinese nationals are Yu Yue, Li Hukwang, Yang Chuan, Yu Haihang, Yu Qiao Kui, and Zhou Yong.
The flood, caused by heavy rainfall in Tibet, hit Gosaikunda-2 around 3 a.m., sweeping away the Nepal–China Miteri Bridge, halting cross-border movement, and damaging an EV charging station, customs yard, and the Rasuwagadhi Hydropower dam.

One unidentified body has also been recovered from the riverbank in Uttargaya-5.
