KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index witnessed a double-digit increase today. The NEPSE index rose by 22.04 points to settle at 2,705.90 points.
A total of 158,22,970 shares of 316 companies were traded 62,884 times, resulting in a total transaction amount of NPR 7.45 billion (NPR 7,451,877,102). While the sub-indices of the Finance group and Mutual Fund declined by 0.38% and 0.01% respectively, all other sectoral indices saw gains.
Among them, the Banking sector rose the most by 1.68%, followed by the Investment group which increased by 1.37%. The Development Bank sector gained 0.34%, Hotels and Tourism rose by 0.28%, Hydropower by 0.54%, Life Insurance by 0.24%, Manufacturing and Processing by 0.95%, Microfinance by 0.85%, Non-life Insurance by 0.24%, Trading by 0.34%, and the others group increased by 0.30%.
Barun Hydropower Company Limited recorded the highest price gain of 6.21% today, while Green Development Bank Limited saw the biggest price drop of 4.41%.
