JHAPA: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli dismissed false rumors spread by some opposition parties that he left people behind during his visit to Spain, saying such claims do not deserve a response.

He made these remarks while inaugurating the Madandangi–Tarabari–Depot Road improvement project in Damak Municipality, Jhapa, on Sunday.

Supported by the World Bank, this road is considered a prestigious project for the municipality and is one of the 17 selected roads across Nepal.

The 4.86 km road, constructed at a cost of NPR 442.4 million, was completed on schedule and is regarded as a model project.

Prime Minister Oli stated that this road is part of the government’s campaign to bring a wave of development and construction across the country, with an aim to complete ongoing works from Mechi to Mahakali. He also announced plans to build a large auditorium in Beldangi, Damak.

He highlighted that free online classes, run voluntarily on important subjects, helped improve the SEE (Secondary Education Examination) results by 13% this year, reflecting the government’s plans to bring improvements in every sector.

The program was attended by Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Devendra Dahal, Koshi Province Chief Minister Hikmat Kumar Karki, former Chief Ministers Sherdhan Rai, Uddhav Thapa, among others.
