NEPSE declines by 4.64 points today with Rs 4.427 billion turnover

KATHMANDU: On the second trading day of the week today (Tuesday), the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) declined by a single digit. Experiencing fluctuations throughout the day, NEPSE ultimately closed down by 4.64 points. Compared to the previous trading day, the turnover amount also decreased.

On Monday, NEPSE had dropped by 33.28 points. Decreasing by 0.17 percent compared to the previous trading day, NEPSE settled at 2,696.67 points today.

On this day, the Sensitive Index also fell by 0.70 points to close at 470.79 points. In percentage terms, this is 0.14 percent lower compared to the previous trading day. Similarly, the float index decreased by 0.16 percent and the sensitive float index dropped by 0.11 percent.

In the stock market on Tuesday, at least 10,421,863 shares of 342 companies were traded in 55,580 transactions. Accordingly, a turnover of Rs 4.427 billion was recorded on Tuesday. On Monday, a turnover of Rs 6.08 billion had taken place.

Share prices of 96 companies increased on NEPSE today. While share prices of 166 companies declined, the share prices of 13 companies remained stable. Of the 13 sub-indices traded on NEPSE today (Tuesday), indices of 4 subgroups increased while the remaining 9 subgroups declined.

Accordingly, the Commercial Bank sub-index fell by 0.07 percent and the Development Bank sub-index dropped by 0.19 percent on NEPSE on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the finance sub-index rose by 0.06 percent, hotel and tourism by 0.18 percent, and the hydropower sub-index by 0.15 percent.

Similarly, the Investment sub-index dropped by 0.79 percent, Life Insurance by 0.58 percent, Manufacturing and Processing by 0.26 percent, Microfinance by 0.13 percent, Mutual Fund by 0.46 percent, Non-life Insurance by 0.24 percent, and Others by 0.80 percent, whereas the Trading sub-index increased by 0.74 percent.

Investors of Everest Color gained 15 percent on NEPSE on Tuesday. That is, Everest Color’s share price hit the positive circuit limit. On the other hand, investors of Kutheli Bukhari Small Hydropower lost 6.07 percent of their share value.

In terms of turnover amount, Central Finance Company stood at the top today. It recorded a turnover of Rs 271.4 million on Tuesday.

Likewise, in terms of the number of shares traded, Global IME Bank Limited remained at the forefront today as well. A total of 648,297 shares were traded on Tuesday. On Monday, 1,089,231 shares had been traded. Its final trading price today stood at Rs 259 per share.
