KATHMANDU: In a dominant display, Machhindra Club thrashed Satdobato Youth Club 12–1 in the ANFA U-16 Youth League match held on Sunday at the ANFA ground in Satdobato. This marks the biggest victory margin of the ongoing league and propels Machhindra to the top of the standings with 10 points from four matches.
Bikash Thapa scored a hat-trick for Machhindra, while Govinda BK and Rahul Kumar Yonjan each netted twice. Konjok Lama, Saugat Magar, Janak BK, Suman Thakuri, and Karan Dhami contributed one goal apiece. Satdobato’s only consolation goal came from Yuvraj Budhathoki.
Satdobato remains at the bottom of the table with zero points after four consecutive defeats.
In another Sunday fixture, Jawalakhel Youth Club edged Shree Bhagawati Club 2–1, coming from behind to secure victory. Bishal Shahi and Sameer Lopchan were the scorers for Jawalakhel, while Suyog Shrestha had given Shree Bhagawati an early lead which later turned into a mere consolation.
With their second win of the league, Jawalakhel climbs to seventh place, while Shree Bhagawati, suffering its third loss, sits in eighth position.
Organized by the All-Nepal Football Association (ANFA), the U-16 Youth League features 14 A-Division clubs.
The league champion will receive Rs 100,000, while the runner-up will get Rs 50,000. Additionally, best individual performers and the most disciplined team will each receive Rs 15,000, ANFA announced.
