KATHMANDU: Currently, the influence of monsoon winds is weak across the country. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the monsoon trough is situated near its average position.

Currently, the hilly areas across the country are generally cloudy, with a possibility of light to moderate rainfall with thunder/lightning at a few places in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces.

The forecast division has stated that it will be generally cloudy in the hilly areas of the country this afternoon and partly cloudy in the rest of the country.

There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder/lightning in some places in the hilly areas of the rest of the provinces including Bagmati, Ganadaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces and in a few places in the rest of the country. There is a possibility of windstorm in some places in the Terai of Koshi province and Madhesh province.

According to the Forecasting Division, it will be generally cloudy in the hilly areas of the country, including Koshi Province, and partly cloudy in the rest of the country. There is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall with thunder/lightning in some places in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces and in a few places in the rest of the country.

The division requests the general public and all concerned bodies to be informed of the latest weather information as there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in the Terai and Bagmati provinces of Koshi Province and one or two hilly areas of Gandaki Province.
