SAPTARI: A schoolteacher was found dead on Friday in Kushaha, Ward No. 6 of Dakneshwori Municipality in Saptari district, according to the police.

The deceased has been identified as 27-year-old Ramkishan Raya, a local resident of the same ward.

Raya, who had gone missing from his home around 6 PM on Thursday evening, was discovered dead the next day near the bank of the Koshi Pump Canal in the same area.

After Raya failed to return home and could not be contacted overnight, his family and local residents began searching for him.

They discovered his body on Friday morning and immediately informed the police.

Upon receiving the report, a joint team from the Area Police Offices of Patto and Kalyanpur was dispatched to the scene and began investigations.

The police team carried out legal procedures at the site and sent Raya’s body to Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital in Rajbiraj for post-mortem examination.

Further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
