SAPTARI: A husband and wife were electrocuted on Friday night at Pauwa Tol in Rupani Rural Municipality, Saptari district.

According to Inspector Uday Rai of the Saptari District Police Office, 47-year-old Baleshwar Khanga and his 45-year-old wife Ramkumari Khanga were electrocuted while charging their city rickshaw.

The couple is survived by two sons, the younger of whom is differently-abled.

The police have taken the bodies to Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital in Rajbiraj for postmortem and said an investigation is underway.
