KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that the influence of the monsoon system remains weak across the country.

The monsoon trough currently lies close to the average position.

For Sunday afternoon, the weather is expected to be generally cloudy across the country.

There is a possibility of moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in some hilly areas and a few places in the Terai.

Isolated heavy rainfall is likely in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.

Windstorms are expected in the Terai regions of Madhesh and Lumbini provinces.

Tonight, the weather will remain generally cloudy throughout the country.

Moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning is likely in some hilly areas of Koshi and Sudurpaschim provinces and a few places in the remaining Terai regions.

Additionally, isolated heavy rainfall is forecasted in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.
