BENI: The Beni–Jomsom road, which connects the northern region of Myagdi to the tourist district of Mustang via the national highway, has been blocked due to a dry landslide.

The landslide occurred at Ghoptebhir, located at the border of Annapurna Rural Municipality in Myagdi and Thasang Rural Municipality in Mustang, halting all traffic since this morning.

According to Tej Bahadur Kumal, Assistant Sub-Inspector and chief of Ghasa Police Post, road department machinery has been deployed to clear the debris and restore the route.

The obstruction has completely severed Mustang’s direct road connectivity. Meanwhile, adverse weather has grounded flights between Pokhara and Jomsom, further isolating the district.

Both locals and tourists traveling to or from Mustang have been affected.

Travelers heading to Mustang are stranded in Kavre, Myagdi, while those returning are stuck in Ghasa.
