KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has directed the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the leadership of the National Sports Council to carry out timely and effective preparations to conclude the 10th National Games within the upcoming month of Mangsir.
During a discussion held at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar, PM Oli emphasized that the national competition must be treated as a matter of national pride, especially in the context of the upcoming Asian Games scheduled for 2026 in Japan.
He instructed the concerned authorities to ensure grand and dignified preparations for the event.
The Prime Minister also advised that the date and venue of the games should be carefully studied and finalized, and once decided, should not be changed.
As the patron of the National Sports Council, he also stressed the importance of proper coordination between the ministry and the council’s leadership.
The discussion was attended by Youth and Sports Minister Tejulal Chaudhary, Ministry Secretary Dr. Hari Prasad Lamsal, Council Vice-Chair Dhruba Acharya, and Member Secretary Tanklal Ghising, among others.
