KATHMANDU: In a bid to expand electric vehicle (EV) use across Nepal, Proton inaugurated its third showroom in Pokhara’s Buddha Chowk on Monday.
This is the first Proton EV outlet outside Kathmandu, established by its official distributor Jagdamba Motors. The showroom showcases Proton’s flagship electric SUV, the eMAS 7, which is available in Prime and Premium variants priced at Rs 5.699 million and NPR 6.799 million, respectively.
The vehicle comes in six color options and features a powerful battery, intelligent electric propulsion system, Level-2 advanced driver assist, and a 360-degree camera.
To attract customers, Proton is offering 0% interest financing, test drives, and consultation services in Pokhara. The eMAS 7, which boasts a range of up to 410 km per charge and fast-charging capability (30% to 80% in 20 minutes), was also unveiled at the Pokhara Event Center.
Jagdamba Motors has also opened a new service center in Pokhara and aims to expand its dealership and EV charging infrastructure nationwide.
Officials emphasized Proton’s commitment to eco-friendly transport, with plans for a nationwide EV ecosystem by 2025.
The Malaysian-made eMAS 7, launched globally in June 2024, features luxury interiors with ventilated seats, 16-speaker sound system, ambient lighting, and a large touchscreen display.
