KHOTANG: Sixteen people were injured when a microbus carrying pilgrims from Siraha overturned near Daunte Khola in Bahunidanda, Halesi Tuwa Chung Municipality-1, Khotang, on Monday morning.

Among the injured, one passenger was found crushed under the vehicle and is in serious condition.

The vehicle was returning from a pilgrimage to Halesi at the time of the accident.

Thirteen others sustained injuries and have been taken to Ghurmi, Udayapur for primary treatment, police said.

The injured pilgrims had traveled from Naraha Rural Municipality-5, Siraha, to visit the Halesi shrine.

Further details on the injured are yet to be confirmed.
