KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Weather Forecasting Division has stated that monsoon winds are currently active across the country.
The monsoon trough is positioned north of its average location, lying over Nepal’s Terai region. According to the Division, the weather remains generally cloudy nationwide.
Light to moderate rainfall is occurring in some areas of Madhesh and Lumbini Provinces, a few places in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces, and at isolated places in the remaining regions.
During the day, the weather is expected to stay mostly cloudy across the country. Moderate rainfall is likely in several areas of Koshi and Madhesh Provinces, as well as in many parts of other provinces.
There is a chance of heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated locations in Gandaki and Lumbini Provinces, and at one or two places in Bagmati and Sudurpashchim Provinces.
Tonight, moderate rainfall is likely in many areas of Koshi, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim Provinces, and at a few places elsewhere.
Additionally, isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in some parts of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim Provinces.
With monsoon activity expected to remain active across the country, including Madhesh Province, over the next few days, the Department has urged everyone to exercise necessary caution.
