KATHMANDU: Five different committees under the Federal Parliament are scheduled to meet today (Friday).
These include the Finance Committee, Industry, Commerce, Labour and Consumer Welfare Committee, Women and Social Affairs Committee, Public Accounts Committee, and the Committee on Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation of the Directive Principles, Policies and Responsibilities of the State.
All meetings will be held between 9 AM and 1 PM at the committee meeting halls in Singha Durbar.
The Women and Social Affairs Committee will discuss existing legal complexities related to human trafficking and transportation.
The Committee on Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation of the Directive Principles, Policies and Responsibilities of the State will deliberate on the current construction schedule of the Federal Parliament Building under construction in Singha Durbar, as well as the preparations by the concerned ministry to ensure the schedule’s implementation.
The Public Accounts Committee will hold discussions with secretaries from 10 ministries with the highest amounts of unsettled expenditures, along with the heads of their subordinate departments.
The Industry, Commerce, Labour and Consumer Welfare Committee will review reports from field inspections conducted by the committee.
Meanwhile, the Finance Committee will hold discussions with amending lawmakers and experts on the bill prepared to make provisions for mobilizing alternative development finance.
