A man died after consuming wild mushrooms in Khandabari Municipality-4 of Sankhuwasabha district, on Thursday. 

Police identified the deceased as local resident Lal Bahadur Rai (39).

Rai and his 70-year-old mother were taken ill after they consumed the mushroom fetched from the forest, on Thursday, according to Khandbari, Ward 4 chair, Sajit Rai.

Rai died during the course of treatment at Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences on Sunday night, ward chair informed.
