KATHMANDU: Chairman of the CPN (Maoist Centre) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has congratulated the newly elected executive committee of the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA).

At a program held at his private residence in Khumaltar today, Prachanda extended congratulations to the panel led by newly elected president Phurwa Gelje Sherpa.

The Sherpa-led panel, backed by the Maoist Centre and its alliance, secured victory by defeating the ruling coalition of the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML.

While offering his congratulations, Prachanda expressed confidence that the association could play a vital role in the development of Nepal’s mountain tourism sector.

He remarked, “Mountain tourism in Nepal must be further developed. I extend heartfelt congratulations on behalf of my party and myself to the newly elected president, all office bearers, and everyone who supported the election process.

You will have my full support in advancing NMA into a stronger and more effective institution.”
