KATHMANDU: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed charges against Jajarkot’s Bheri Municipality officials and contractors for irregularities in the fiscal year 2023/24 tender for ward office construction in wards 6, 9, and 10.

Officials, including the former acting chief administrative officer and engineers, are accused of malpractice causing a loss of R 3.62 million while partners of the joint venture New BK/Nahkuli JV allegedly gained illegally.

The investigation found that bidders were unfairly disqualified and tender procedures manipulated to favor the targeted company, resulting in financial loss to government property.
