KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML Central Committee meeting, earlier slated before the party’s second statute general convention, has been cancelled.
Reports will now be forwarded through the Secretariat. Preparations are nearly complete for the three-day convention, set to take place at Sunrise Hall, Godavari, from September 5–7.
Around 2,350 participants—including 2,033 delegates and 317 organizers—are expected to attend the event.
On September 4, the Secretariat will finalize political, organizational, and legislative amendment reports, as well as reports from the Election Commission, Disciplinary Committee, Accounts Commission, and Advisory Council.
Party Chairman and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, returning from a five-day visit to China on the night of September 3, will inaugurate the gathering.
The convention will be held under the slogan: “Building a decisive national power is our resolve, prosperous Nepal, happy Nepali national destination.”
