KATHMANDU: The United Nations Office in Nepal has congratulated the people of Nepal on the appointment of Sushila Karki as the country’s interim Prime Minister.
In a statement issued by UN Nepal, the organization extended its congratulations to the Nepali people on the appointment and reaffirmed its commitment to support public expectations for peace, justice, transparency, accountability, and progress.
The statement also praised the significant contributions of President Ram Chandra Paudel, Chief of Army Staff General Ashok Sigdel, and Gen Z youth leaders during this transitional period.
The UN expressed its best wishes for Prime Minister Karki’s success in fulfilling her responsibilities and reiterated its commitment to continue working with the Government of Nepal.
The statement emphasized, “The United Nations remains ready to cooperate in Nepal’s journey toward stability, human rights, and sustainable development in the interest of the Nepali people.”
