KATHMANDU: Continuous rainfall, severe flooding, and sudden landslides have disrupted traffic and completely blocked several major highways across Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.
Key arterial routes—including the Mechi Highway in Ilarn, the B.P. Highway in Kavre, Kantilokpath in Makwanpur, the Araniko Highway in Sindhupalchok, and various critical road sections in Kaski, Rolpa, Arghakhanchi, and Gulmi—have been shut down completely, forcing authorities to divert traffic to alternative routes where available.
Meanwhile, crucial transit points like the Mid-Hill Highway in Bhojpur and the Siddhartha Highway in Palpa have managed to remain partially open, operating on a restricted, single-lane basis as clearance efforts continue.
