DAMAULI: An under-construction roadway in Tanahun district has depressed due to incessant rainfall since Sunday.

The motorway linking Lamagaon to Dulegauda, Shuklagandaki municipality subsided at Healthpost. Deputy Mayor of Shuklagandaki municipality, Khum Bahadur BK, informed that the roadway was being upgraded with the assistance of the World Bank.

The construction company has been directed to repair the road immediately. A representative of the construction company, Shyamanand Gupta, was asked to ensure quality in the road construction.

The upgrading of the roadway has secured 45 percent progress. Contract for the upgrade was signed two years back.

The contract was awarded at a cost of Rs 273.4 million for the upgrading of the 14-km long roadway. Engineer at the municipality office, Tarapati Bhattarai, informed that the motorway beginning from Dulegauda of Shuklagandaki municipality-4 connects ward no 8, 9, and 12.
