KATHMANDU: The Nepali film industry is gearing up for a busy autumn season, with two highly anticipated films, Paran and Jaari 2: Song of Chyabrung, set to hit theaters on new dates.

Paran, a joint production by the Golchha Group and Prisma Group, is currently in post-production. The film’s director, Deepak Prasad Acharya, has confirmed that the release will proceed as planned on October 31.

Produced by Shekhar Golchha, the film aims to preserve Nepali originality and culture and features a star-studded cast including Neer Bikram Shah, Madan Krishna Shrestha, Keki Adhikari, Pravin Khatiwada, Buddhi Tamang, Anjana Baraili, and Mahesh Tripathi.

The production team plans to launch its promotional campaign soon with the release of the film’s first-look poster.

Meanwhile, Jaari 2: Song of Chyabrung, will now be released on October 23, coinciding with the Bhai Tika festival.

Directed by Upendra Subba, the film was originally scheduled to be released on September 19 but was postponed due to the Gen Z movement.

According to director Subba, the unrest led to a lack of promotional time, forcing the team to delay the premiere.

A joint production of Baasuri Films and Kabaddi Films, the film stars Dayahang Rai, Miruna Magar, Buddhi Tamang, and Bijay Baral.
