CHITWAN: Traffic along the Muglin–Narayangadh road, which had been closed overnight due to continuous landslides, resumed partially from 5 a.m. on Monday.
The section at Tuin Khola in Ichhakamana Rural Municipality-6 had remained blocked after repeated landslides forced authorities to suspend vehicle movement from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.
The road, which was already closed since Friday evening, had only reopened one-way on Sunday afternoon. However, another landslide around 8 p.m. Sunday evening once again obstructed the route.
According to Inspector Pratik Singh of the Area Police Office, Muglin, the debris was cleared early Monday morning, allowing one-way traffic to resume.
Inspector Singh urged drivers to strictly use their designated lane as heavy traffic congestion has built up in the area.
Stranded passengers who had been stuck for two days have now started moving towards their destinations.
The road handles over 10,000 vehicles daily.
The District Administration Office has advised travelers to use alternative routes until two-way traffic is fully restored.
Authorities said the road was blocked for an extended period after a dry landslide occurred near Tuin Khola.
