KATHMANDU: The National Federation of Nepal Transport Entrepreneurs has announced that route permits for passenger vehicles have been opened from today to facilitate smooth public transport services across the country during the festive season.
With the decision, public vehicles will be allowed to operate directly to their destinations without needing to take alternative routes. However, existing restrictions on certain roads will continue to apply.
The Federation stated that the route permits will remain open until October 8.
It also reminded passengers that they must purchase valid tickets when traveling on public vehicles.
Meanwhile, the government has already imposed restrictions on the movement of large vehicles, including trailers, along the Narayangadh–Kathmandu route until the full moon (Purnima), except for those transporting essential goods such as food grains.
