KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has warned of rising water levels in Nepal’s major rivers over the next three days, with small rivers at risk of flash floods.
While rivers like Koshi, Narayani, Bagmati, Karnali, and Mahakali are currently below alert levels, significant rises are expected in the coming days.
Small rivers in districts including Taplejung, Sindhupalchok, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Chitwan, and Kanchanpur may see sudden increases, posing moderate flash flood risk.
Residents near riverbanks and low-lying areas are urged to stay alert.
