KATHMANDU: All types of government offices, institutions, and local bodies in Kathmandu district will reopen from today, Monday, following an improvement in weather conditions.
The Kathmandu District Administration Office (DAO) issued a public notice late Sunday night announcing the resumption of services.
Earlier, the government had declared a two-day public holiday on October 5 and 6 due to continuous heavy rainfall, landslides, and road blockages leading into the capital.
With the weather now improving and immediate risks subsiding, the DAO instructed that all offices be kept open and that necessary arrangements be made for staff attendance from 10 a.m. onwards.
The notice emphasized that essential public services must be resumed without delay.
Similarly, the Lalitpur District Administration Office also issued a statement confirming that all offices in Lalitpur district would resume operations today.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Home Affairs has directed districts not directly engaged in disaster response operations to continue providing public services.
Continuous rainfall since October 3 had disrupted normal life across nearly three dozen districts, where relief and disaster management efforts are still ongoing.
